Providing top notch academic facilities is central to GIST policy. Our relevant and state-of-the-art curricula are fully supported with appropriately trained faculty and administrative staff, working in well-equipped laboratories. In addition, there are the following educational support facilities that add another dimension to the learning cycle.

It is becoming very apparent that accumulation of technical knowledge alone is sufficient for graduates to find good jobs. The career resource centre serves as a bridge between the respective employers and students. It helps the graduating students in the preparation of their CV’s writing dissertations and conducts training in commutation / professional skills for students to help them develop their interviewing and presentations skills. It also offers students valuable updates in the latest trends and identifies careers that suit their qualifications, experience and aptitude. It also contacts industries for short term placements of students.

All our students have access to high-speed computers and the internet. GIST is one public sector Engineering College in which all the teaching is performed with the help of audio visual equipments such as multimedia projector, overhead projector, slide projector, V.C.R/ T.V. system etc. The students of GIST feel very comfortable to study with the audio visual aid.

The students advisory council helps and guide the students in all affairs, including academic, recreational, co-curricular and extra-curricular. It “counsels” students to develop intellectual and creative skills. It is headed by the Advisor Students Affairs, and is a sounding board for student concerns and suggestions.

The two doctors (Male & Female) are deputed for the medical care services of the GIST students where as in the serious cases; students requiring medical attention are referred to the Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar. Medical treatment to students upto first aid level, is free. The following two doctors are appointed to look ofter the health of the male and female students of this college.

GIST NEWS LETTERS AND PUBLICATIONS

GIST has a separate editorial board comprising of student volunteers and staff advisors who guide them in editorial matters and news letter which gives the students first opportunity to see their work published. The students also carry news items and reports about events taking place in and around the campus.

PROJECT MANUFACTURING

The students of final year are being seriously involved to prepare / manufacture their projects. GIST provides a platform for graduate students to present their projects in the last year of their study. This not only provides the awareness about the industrial productions but also makes the students courageous to produce some thing by their own.

SPORTS

GIST recognize the co-curricular and extra curricular activities help in developing well-rounded personalities. The GIST Department of Sports provides the opportunity for students to participate in physical activity to achieve a healthier lifestyle to develop new skills and to improve their sporting talent. Student of GIST play friendly matches with the neighboring colleges and private clubs. The

Department of Sports also organizes inter-departmental sports tournaments on annual basis.
The GIST shares the sports grounds with the Hayatabad Sports Complex and University of Peshawar for practice and sports competitions.

            During the four years study of engineering students, this is a part of education to visit the industries. This college has the link with the industries and other Government / Non Government departments for the industrial visit / training of the students of this college. This provides a good confidence in the students for their future programme of field life.

            There are also the facilities of pleasure trips to go outside Peshawar. The students often go to Islamabad, Lahore, or to hilly stations for their recreation and enjoyment.
