Electrical Engineering has a major impact on the quality of life through systems such as medical equipments, space satellites and communications networks, Mobile Phones, portable computers, and many other electronic products which are technically sophisticated. Electrical Engineers use their ingenuity and skills to develop and improve such products and to invent completely new devices. The Department of Electrical Engineering offers studies in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Electrical Engineering.

This degree programme provides base of education for further study to master and PhD levels. The 4th year studies add greater depth of knowledge about the Technology which includes a major design project which has an industrial link where possible. The Engineering students are also provided the opportunity of field-trips, in which they get the chance to visit the industries so that they are able to improve their knowledge.

The knowledge about Electrical Engineering is taught through lectures, problem classes, tutorials and practical works. The Department has extensive computer facilities that are available for all students to use. It makes available software such as word processing, spread-sheets and Netscape and advance technical packages for sophisticated designs.
